Meet the Burros and their Handlers

    MIJA

    Mija is the granny of our bunch, she is 23 and in her earlier days she was a service  donkey and is as sweet as they come. If she had her way she would climb into your lap for a  little nap and chest scratches. She loves people and is calm, gentle, and sweet. Nothing phases her, she is calm as a cucumber around kids, animals, champagne corks popping and anything that might arise at your event.

    KNEEHIGH

    The smallest of our little drove of donkeys, she is sweet and gentle with a little  naughty streak. She has staged many jailbreaks and then tries to blame it on her friends. .  She is still getting used events and is doing plenty of ground work with her humans to get used to all kinds of situations that might arise. She loves treats and head scratches and has striking markings that would look great in your selfie booth.

    DONNA

    Donna is our little spitfire girl. She loves to be the center of attention and wants all the  cuddles and snacks. She would love to take selfies with your guests while spreading  joy and getting some love!

    CLARA BELLE

    Clara Belle is a beautiful paint color who is a real show stopper! She is  calm and sweet and loves to be the center of attention. She enjoys long walks with a friend, eating tortilla chips, and laying in your lap for afternoon cuddles in the sunshine.

Meet our Handler

Hi, I’m Rhea. I am a landscape contractor by trade, I manage a 380 acre working ranch on the wild and rugged south coast of Big Sur, I co-run a construction company, and I am also a mom. In 2024 I decided I need a career pivot and got hooked on the idea of a beer burro business. I love meeting new people, I love bringing joy and whimsy to events, and I love animals, so what better way to incorporate my passions. I asked the universe to bring me two female donkeys and in the most serendipitous series of events four female donkeys found their way into our lives and hearts and our business was born.

DONKEY CUDDLES & WALKS

We love having guests come  cuddle the donkeys. We are located on the south coast of big sur, currently because of a  landslide we are only accessible from the south. But reach out and set up a time to come  cuddle the girls or we can take them for a walk along the ocean bluffs. All guests of the farm  will be required to sign a release of liability.

On very special occasions, we open the gates to an extraordinary, private oceanfront property on the south coast of Big Sur. With 100 acres of wild coastal beauty, this sacred space is available for a limited number of events each year.
